South Street Seaport, Manhattan, at the Waxing of the Moon

This ship, named The Peking, was docked at the pier and was large and empty. When I looked at the gangway, below, I was eerily and distinctly reminded of the ghost ship in Raul Ruiz's 'Three Crowns of the Sailor.'

Kiosks making promises.

And an odd free ride - as long as you're not wearing any medically-prescribed gadgets you might be safe on this ride. What is it? Watch your step!

The lonely pier ... the East River Drive runs through it!

A smaller boat and a high moon. This place may best be viewed at night, when the tourists (god bless them) and the revelers go back to their rooms.
