I began this photo blog in 2007 upon returning to NYC after six years in Dublin, Ireland. I started taking pictures of whatever was in front of me - the basic layout of the world.
At first, people waiting and milling around. I'm with the Zen Center/Zen Mountain Monastery. Everyone's in a pretty good mood.
The march finally begins.
as we come around Columbus Circle, we see the thousands of marchers who have come down from the higher avenues, waiting for us to pass so they can join the march
Cops doing their job - what we used to call "the white shirt" (from olden days of NYC protests), who is the guy in charge - telling us (all 10,000 of us) to "hurry up" so the other marchers can join us. Hurry up?
We pass Central Park and a group of meditators, and lots of onlookers and happy supporters sitting on rocks..
A good place to have your drinks cart - everyone's thirsty!
The Hare Krishnas were amazing. They provided lots of great spirit and a fantastic sound track to the march.
Getting closer to 42nd Street and the end of the march.
