At the MIX Festival of Queer Experimental Film and Video, New York City

In the lobby of the Mix Queer Experimental Film & Video Festival venue (the place was once a Liz Claiborne clothing shop) an installation of mannequins and light boxes...

...and glitter and the guts of video cameras...

and the hallway, with its sparkling blue floor, led to tiny rooms, formerly dressing rooms, each with its own light show...

"Light Culture 3" by Larry Ackerman (2008)

...this wall is part of an installation called "Asbury Juke Joint" by Christine Callahan and Jenne Mischo (2008)

(title and artist unk, sorry!)

...and then I spent some time in artist Kenny Scharf's installation, "Closet #26" (2008) - a visit back in time to the 1980s...

...then on to a video piece that projects an image onto fine white powder, called "A Sense of Place or Apres moi, le deluge" by Desireena Almoradie (2006)

and another dressing room - first shot taken with the camera flash, the next showing the installation as it is meant to be seen...

...and onto artist Effi Asili's Obama quilt wall, part of his installation called "P.S.A. (Public Service Announcement)" (2008)

...ending in the upstairs lounge, where there was a large video wall projection, called "STODGY: Store/Story/Body/Orgy," by Jessica Dellecave...all at this year's Mix Queer Experimental Film and Video Festival!
