Silent vigil at the Israeli Consulate, mid-town Manhattan, and scenes along the walk back to the subway

A demonstration sponsored by a coalition of Jewish groups against the bombardment of Gaza. It was a silent vigil, meaning no chanting or yelling. It seemed almost useless to me and I left after about half an hour. Maybe they did some good - who knows?

I passed the World Headquarters of the Pfizer Group. Scary chemical and pharmaceutical mega corporation. Artwork about chemistry in the lobby.

Then past the Helmsley Hotel, with this lovely 19th Century building, below, next door.

Faberge eggs in a shop window. Odd, because one was led to believe that these were precious and rare - and here's a whole lot of them. Forgive my ignorance about Faberge eggs.
