A burned-out apartment in our building. The landlord had waited until the squirrels and pigeons took over these formerly pricey digs, and perhaps the building inspectors gave him a deadline as well. The apartment is now being renovated.

Then, this 3 story blank wall, also in lower Manhattan. Someone somewhere has plans for this, in the meantime, how can the graffiti-ists resist?

A narrow 19thC 3 story building found a niche on St. Mark's Place. And someone wisely thought to make the ground floor into a cafe. Old style.

Filming Notorious B.I.G. in Brooklyn last Spring

While walking to the job one day last Spring I came across a shoot at Fulton St. and Washington Ave., Brooklyn, for the film about Biggie Smalls, Notorious B.I.G.
I took some pictures of what is mostly the crew and extras waiting around for the cameras to roll. Then someone told me I couldn't take pictures. But as it was a public street and a public thoroughfare, and they were making me wait to cross until they filmed a particular shot, I decided to take some more photos.

In the middle of it all, NYC Public Works was digging up the street.
