I noticed a lot of these one morning and realized there was some purpose to it - tossed aside and upended bins wherever one happened to glance, or walk, or trip over same.
I began this photo blog in 2007 upon returning to NYC after six years in Dublin, Ireland. I started taking pictures of whatever was in front of me - the basic layout of the world.

Back to the Gardens - Brooklyn
A boulder deposited by a glacier during the last glaciation. The terminal glacial moraine stopped at a point mid-way through what is now the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens between 13,000 and 15,000 years ago. Geologically speaking, the blink of an eye.
One of the fantastic lawns at the Gardens. Good for kids and grown-ups, too. Come as you are.Travels through Gotham
